MEET OUR FOUNDER

Jaleesa Johnson

I’m so excited you’re here to learn more about our Firm and myself!

Jaleesa Natasha Johnson, Chief Esquire Officer of JNJ Legal

The ARTtorney®

Bajan-blooded, Brooklyn-raised serial entrepreneur

Self-taught graphic & fashion designer, content creator & video editor, and educator

Still, I owe a lot of who I am to that business. It was a life-defining moment. The experience made me into an entrepreneur, a negotiator, a customer service agent, a graphic designer, website developer, and eventually into an Intellectual Property lawyer.

And I’ve had the entrepreneurial bug ever since…

While in law school, I transformed what started as a personal fashion & beauty blog back in 2016 into a multi-media platform with engaging and educational video and web content.

Since 2019, I’ve produced and edited an animated, easy-to-understand YouTube series that explains concepts of Intellectual Property Law and Corporate Law to an audience of 3000 people within the fashion and entertainment industry.

The goal: to alleviate the confusion that goes into building and protecting a brand, and to ultimately help small start-ups and entrepreneurs make better legal decisions for their businesses.

Around the same time, I designed and launched my eclectic street style clothing line – Alien In Da Room – forall who dare to be different”. All my own original designs and all dear to my heart.

Hence, I’m proud to call myself an artist and a lawyer – The ARTtorney®

JNJ Legal is the result of years of hard work and first hand experience. It’s our goal to be the go-to Firm for all entrepreneurs. No matter your skill level or stage of business, JNJ Legal is here to be of service to all my fellow artists and risk-takers. I understand what it takes to create a brand you love, let us help you build and protect it.

MY STORY

The arts have always been a part of my life.

At a young age, I’d practice drawing still life and portraits whenever I had the chance.

In high school, hand-crafted jewelry.

And in college, a sorority-inspired phone case and clothing e-commerce store funded by a student loan refund check.

Like you, I researched business structures, read every free resource about business I could find, planned marketing strategies, prayed I’d eventually understand taxes 😂, and ingested intellectual property law to avoid a lawsuit. As careful and resourceful as I was, the business still failed! I was blissfully ignorant.

And in hind sight, there was so much more to learn about the law, my responsibilities, marketing, and developing an entrepreneurial mindset.

I’m not new to this.

I’m true to this!
